The past couple of weeks have been kind of a blur. Dear ole Dad finally got to have some time off this year and took full advantage. The past weekend included the 4th of July which was a very fun, but hectic day.
The morning started out like many other fellow Atlantans......with the Peachtree Road Race. This year was probably the most fun since I have been competing. The temperature was about seventy degrees with low humidity and a breeze. Although the race was packed with participants it looked like a good time was had by all. Providing extra motivation for the runners was our one Hollis Thompson. She watched with Grand Pam and Grandy at the two mile mark of the race. Rest assured that her mother would never let her go out with wearing the good ol' white and blue.
Afterwards Mom and Dad pigged out at the local Waffle House and then hit Aunt Mandy's pool for the afternoon. We made a valiant attempt to watch fireworks, but Mr. Sandman prevented us this year.
